Millions of taxpayers are receiving stimulus payments, dubbed the middle-class tax refund. Read on to find out if your state is issuing a payment, too.
California
California residents will be receiving inflation relief checks of up to $1,050, starting in October, on their debit card or as a direct deposit.
Colorado
Residents who filed their tax returns for 2021 by June 30 should have likely received a physical check for $750 by September 30. Filers who were eligible for an extension will receive their refund by early next year.
Delaware
All residents who filed their 2020 tax returns will receive a $300 stimulus check. Even those who filed jointly will receive a payment. These payments started going out in May, so many residents are likely to have already received their checks by now.
Florida
Florida families received one-time payments amounting to $450 per child. Eligible families did not have to apply for this benefit, given that it was automatically mailed out to qualified recipients.
Georgia
Taxpayers who filed their state returns for the years 2020 and 2021 received a rebate. Individuals received a $250 rebate in May, head-of-households received $375, and couples filing jointly received $500.
Hawaii
Residents who earned an income under $100,000 in 2021 — or $200,000 if they filed jointly — are receiving a tax rebate of $300 this year. Dependants are also eligible to receive the rebate.
Idaho
Residents will receive $75 or 12% of their 2020 state income tax return, whichever is higher.
Illinois
Illinois residents who earned under $200,000 in 2021 will receive a $50 tax rebate. Couples who filed jointly and earned under $400,000 will receive a rebate of $100.
Indiana
Hoosiers will receive tax rebates this year. Individuals will receive a rebate of $325, while couples filing jointly will receive $650. All residents are expected to receive a rebate by November 1.
Maine
Taxpayers residing in Maine who receive an adjusted gross income of under $100,000 were eligible for a direct relief payment of $850. Couples filing jointly received $1,700.
Massachusetts
Eligible residents will receive a refund equal to about 13% of their state income tax liability in 2021. That is, however, only an estimate. The final number will be finalized by late October.
Minnesota
Select frontline workers in Minnesota are eligible to receive a one-time payout of $750. A proposed income tax rebate of $1,000 for individual filers earning under $165,000 and $2,000 for couples earning under $275,000 may also be passed.
New Jersey
Millions of New Jersey homeowners will receive property tax rebates. Those earning up to $150,000 will receive rebates amounting to $1,500 on their property taxes. Those earning between $150,000 and $250,000 are likely to receive $1,000. Renters who earn $150,000 or less will receive checks worth $450.
New Mexico
All individual taxpayers will receive a rebate of $500, while joint filers, surviving spouses, and heads of households will receive $1,000.
New York
Eligible homeowners in New York started receiving rebates of up to $1,050 in June. Additionally, the New York City Mayor signed legislation granting several low- and middle-class homeowners residing in the city a one-time rebate of up to $150.
Pennsylvania
In July, several renters, homeowners, and people with disabilities began receiving payouts through the Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program. The maximum rebate under this program was $650.
South Carolina
Eligible individuals will receive tax refund checks of up to $800 starting in late November or early December.
Virginia
Millions of Virginians are expected to start receiving a one-time tax rebate of $250 (or $500 if they filed jointly).
